Eucalyptus populnea, commonly known as poplar box, bimble box or bimbil box, is a species of small to medium-sized tree. It has rough, fibrous or flaky, and egg-shaped, elliptical or more or less round leaves, an white flowers.

Eucalyptus populnea has been used for several purposes including respiratory health, antimicrobial and antiseptic applications, pain relief, and as a source of timber and honey. Its leaves and essential oil have been used for their expectorant, decongestant, and anti-inflammatory properties. We recommend ornamental use only. The foliage is very attractive used in flower arrangements.

Poplar box is widespread in New South Wales. It is most abundant in the northern and central sections on the western plains, becoming gradually less common the New South Wales far west.

It is a favoured food tree for koalas in the range where it occurs.
