Meconopsis baileyi was originally called Meconopsis betonicifolia, and one of the most beautiful plants! This hard-to-find Meconopsis has silky, rich deep-violet flower petals, and a large golden eye. Stems are very strong, and leaves are interestingly hairy! We've reached out to a reliable breeder to obtain the seeds that we know to be true to variety. The seeds are reliable germinators as long as they are given cool temperatures (see germination instructions below).

Seeds per packet: 10
Meconopsis should be planted right away when received, as the seeds have a short viability window. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil, and water in. Do not bury the seeds as light aids germaintion. Temperature 5 to 15ºC (41 to 59ºF). Keep lightly moist. Meconopsis germinate quicker in a peat-based soilless compost. Germination is 6-8 weeks, though some may take longer.
Ornamental use only. These seeds and or plants are poisonous.
