Canada Post CUPW announces national strike

For our Canadian customers:

We have made UPS shipping available for any orders that you wish to receive quickly. Rates are available at checkout.

During the strike we are still accepting orders for Canada Post shipping, and preparing them for shipping. They will be put into the Postal System as soon as possible. Since Canada Post will be delivering on a first-in, first-out basis, your order will be ready to go.

Here is some of the information that Canada Post has provided:

Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network. And no new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.

All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume.

For our USA customers: There are no delays to our standard shipping times.

International customers (outside of North America): UPS courier shipping has no delays. A Canada Post option is available but will have delays due to the Postal strike. Canada Post orders are shipped on a first-in, first-out basis once mail services resume.

Bismarckia nobilis grows from solitary trunks that are 30 to 45 cm in diameter. In their natural habitat they can reach above 25 meters in height but usually get no taller than 12 m in cultivation. The nearly rounded silver leaves are enormous in maturity, over 3 m wide! Foliage is silver-blue for these seeds, though a green leaf variety exists which is less hardy to cold. Bismarckia is hardy outdoors in zone 8b-11.

Bismarck palms are grown throughout the tropics, and subtropics under favorable microclimates. They are grown in many parts of Indonesia and Australia. In the United States, they are planted in several areas of Florida, a few areas of Southern California, southern and southeastern Texas, and southern Arizona. Bismarck palms will suffer from cold damage but they quickly recover. The silver-gray variety will tolerate -3 C (27 F) and will recover from -6 C (21 F). While Bismarckia tolerate some drought, they thrive in areas with adequate rainfall. Because of their massive crowns, they need plenty of room in a landscape area.

Bismarck palms are easy to grow in the right environment as they are adaptable to a wide range of soils and prefer to have good drainage as the Bismarck does not like to have root rot. The Bismarck palm can adapt to either acidic or alkaline soil.

These seeds are extremely large, like small golf balls!

Seeds per packet: 3 huge seeds

Note: These seeds are large, and will have extra freight charges as they do not qualify as a regular bubble envelope and are consider a parcel rate.
