These red hot chiles are indispensable in Mexican, Indonesian and Italian dishes. Peppers are 5-10cm/2-4" long and 1cm/0.5" in diameter. The dried powder adds zest to soups, sauces, egg and meat dishes. Ground pods and a little soap in water is a useful insect-repellent for the garden.

Start these seeds indoors. Sow the just under the surface of the soil, and water in. Keep continuously moist. Place in a warm room 20-25C, 68-77F. A heat mat can be beneficial. Seeds germinate within 15-30 days.
All parts of the pepper plant can be poisonous to pets.
