We're very excited to be able to offer these seeds! They will be available for a short time.

This highland Nepenthes plant is a great option for a start to a Nepenthes collection. The plant itself is relatively easy to care for compared to other varieties and has stunning pitchers that can grow up to 14"! Nepenthes truncata has been known to thrive in regular household conditions with a daily misting with distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water. The misting tricks the plant into thinking it's in a humid environment. If a humid environment can be provided, the ideal humidity would be around 75%.

For feeding this plant, always avoid fertilizers unless you really know what you're doing. We've found the best option has been using freeze dried bloodworms. Another option that we have used is beta fish food pellets. Simply drop one or two of each into the pitchers when they open when the plant is still young. As the plant matures, extra food can be supplied.

Type: Tropical or houseplant

Hardiness zones: 10-12

Location: Part sun or part shade

Germination: Start these seeds immediately upon arrival. Pre-moisten (soak) some long-fiber sphagnum moss using rain water or distilled water (available at grocery stores). Place the seeds on the surface of the pre-dampened mix, and gently water with a spray bottle. Cover with clear plastic, and place your container in a warm area 24C/75F during the day, and nights 15C/59F. Most seedlings will sprout within 2 months, though some may take a little longer. Always keep the soil slightly moist, never letting it dry out.
