Very rare and hard-to-find seeds! These gorgeous banana's have bright red midribs! The more sun, the redder they get! The leaves are bright green, sometimes with a red tint in full sun. Forms a spectacular clump! It is also one of the hardiest Banana's and can live in a cool greenhouse!
We love to use these plants in large planters on the patio, for an exotic look. In winter we cut them back and keep them in a cool room, ideally with sun or lighting. The bounce back well every year!
Type: Tropical, patio or houseplant
Height: Up to 6 meters (20 feet) in tropical locations, or use as an ornamental patio or houseplant
Hardiness zones: 9-11 outdoors, or grow indoors.
Seeds per packet: 3
Before planting, soak the seeds for 12-24 hours. Change the water as needed. Sow just under the surface of the soil and water in. Keep lightly moist. Temperature 21C (70F). Do not use a heat mat. Seeds germinate in 2-6 months.
