A gold-leaved form! Alpine strawberries are larger than wild strawberries, though still have the natural characteristic and nutrition of the original natural strawberries, and remain unaltered by hybridization! The fruit are extremely sweet, are produced early in the season, and are continually produced for many weeks. Plants are easy to grow, and are very tolerant of drought and poor soils. Ideally plants can be placed in a sunny location, though these are probably the most shade-tolerant of strawberries, and will produce fruit in a partly shade location. Strawberries make excellent potted plants, and are also one of the few fruits that can be grown as houseplants! Plant at any time of year, and place in a sunny window. Blooms and produces fruit May to September.

Surface sow as light aids germination. Water the seeds in. Temperature 20-22C (68-72F) for 4 weeks. If they have not germinated after 4 weeks then a cooling period is required. Cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 4 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification period they are then brought back to a cool room (15C, 59F) for them to germinate. Germination can be 30-60 days after the warming period, though some will take longer.

I was impressed by their selection of all types of seeds and their good product descriptions along with detailed germination instructions. I found the site and ordered on a Saturday.
