Description

An extremely popular watermelon, with one of the highest sugar contents of any watermelon! They are large watermelons about 27" long x 12" wide and weigh 40 lbs. The flesh is firm, medium-red, and very sweet. Congo watermelons have unsurpassed taste, winning the prestigious AAS Award in 1950.  Watermelon can be grown in northern climates! It is resistant to disease, and grows in 95 days. Open-pollinated.

Seeds per pack: 5

Germination: Start indoors, seeds require 5-10 days at a soil temperature of 24 C (75 F) to germinate. Do not start outdoors in spring as with lower night temperatures, germination will be inhibited. Then plant outdoors once the chance of frost is past. Water during dry weather.
