Cat grass is usually grown indoors. It may be grown in a dish from which the cat chews the grass directly, or just added to cat food. The most common stated benefit is to aid the passing of hairballs. Although cats may display exuberant behavior when confronted with the grass it has no pharmaceutical influence.

Germination: Catgrass should be started in pots in indirect sunlight rather than in a sunny window. Sprinkle seed on top of the soil and cover with a fine sifting of the same material. Keep lightly moist until germination. Re-sow as required.
