Often used as a 'spike' in annual in planters, the New Zealand Tie Palm (also known as Cabbage Palm) is a hardy, and long-lived palm, with a long trunk carrying a rosette of strap-shaped long leaves! Trees are fairly quick growing. Mature trees produce enormous panicles of deeply-scented white flowers, followed by white berries that persist through the winter. Trees are hardy from zones 8 to 11.
