An extremely hardy biennial native to both Asia and Europe and naturalized across North America. The plants reach up to 10' tall (usually 3-6').

Though this plant may have been used historically for medical purposes, we do not, and cannot, suggest it for any use other than ornamental use.

Germination: Stratification is required for these seeds. Your planting container should have holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. Place the seeds just under the surface of your growing medium, and water in. Place the container in a plastic bag or cover to retain moisture, and place the container in the fridge for 4-6 weeks. Then bring out to room temperature for germination which will take a few weeks.
