One of the most showy and popular of the large asters, these bright flowers provide colour for many weeks in late summer and into fall. This variety is popular for prairie restoration projects because or it's hardy growth, and it provides a late-season source for pollen and nectar for our pollinator friends. As USA native wildflower.

Seeds per packet: 20
Germination Start indoors. Sow the seeds on the surface a seed-start mix and water in. Do not bury the seeds as they require light to germinate. Keep lightly moist and do not let the soil dry out. Keep at 20-22 C, 68-72 F. Seeds germinate in 20-60 days.
Surface sow as light aids germination. Water the seeds in. Temperature 20-22C (68-72F) for 4 weeks. If they have not germinated after 4 weeks then a cooling period is required. Cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 4 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification period they are then brought back to a cool room (15C, 59F) for them to germinate. Germination can be 30-60 days after the warming period, though some will take longer.
