Description

The aromatic aster, is a rare and beautiful herbaceous perennial, scented, and distinguishable from other Aster by it's unusuall large flowers! It's compact form allows it to easily be integrated into gardens. Plants are easy to grow, and are drought tolerant. The plants are native to parts of eastern and central United States. It is found in parts of Kansas, Ohio, northern Illinois, hilly parts of southern Illinois, and on the banks of the Mississippi River and Illinois River, as well as other parts of the central United States.

Note: Ornamental use only. May be poisonous.

Seeds per pack: 30

Germination: Start these seeds right away to preserve viability, no matter the time of year. Sow the seeds just under the surface of a sterile seed-start mix, and water in. Leave them at room temperature for 4 weeks. If not growth appears a cold treatment may be required to break dormancy. Then cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 4 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification period they are then brought back to room temperature for them to germinate. Germination is in 14-45 days after the warming period.
