Description

One of the best known Mimosa, and one of the hardiest. They are found growing over the warmer regions of the world, but most abundant in Australia to where most of these species are endemic. The species listed have been specially selected as being best suited for cultivation in cooler climates including the warm regions of North America, requiring little more than protection from frost. They are some of the most beautiful of greenhouse plants.

Note: Ornamental use only. These seeds and/or plants are poisonous.

Seeds per pack: 5 Large seeds

Germination: Acacia seed germinates freely if placed in a cup of boiling water and allowed to stand 2 days before sowing. You may also scarify or nick the seed prior to soaking if desired. I rough sand paper works well. Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained sterile seed-start mix. They require darkness to germinate. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil, and water in. Keep at 18-21°C. Germination 10-35 days.
