BLACK HOLLYHOCK Alcea nigra
Stunning deep-black flowers on strong stems! Plants bloom for a long time throughout the summer! Hollyhocks are tough, rugged perennials. Plant in a sunny location.
Germination: These seeds are very easy to germinate! Plant seeds in spring or summer. Rake the ground, and then scatter the seeds on the raked ground. Lightly rake them in, so that they are just covered by the soil, being careful that they are not too deep. Water the area, and keep it continually moist until plants begin to grow. Once they are established they are somewhat drought tolerant. These seeds can also be started early indoors (before the last frost), and if started indoors early they may bloom the first year from seed!
