Hydrangea quercifolia, also known as Oakleaf Hydrangea, is a stunning shrub that is native to the Southeastern United States! The plant produces white flowers in erect clusters in early summer, aging from creamy white to pink and eventually to a papery rusty-brown. In the fall, the leaves turn rich shades of red, bronze and purple, persisting through winter. Oakleaf hydrangea prefers moist, acid organic soils in partial shade or full sun and grows best in a natural or landscaped woodland habitat. It is commonly grown in gardens as an ornamental plant.
