RED HOT POKER Kniphofia caulescens

One of the best Red Hot Pokers, this plant produces huge flowers and large, dense and tidy clumps! Though it looks tropical, this perennial is very winter hardy, drought tolerant, and easy to grow! Plant in a fully sunny location with well drained soil.

Germination: These seeds are fairly easy to germinate! Obtain a planting container that has holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. Place the seeds just on the surface of your growing medium, and water. Do not bury the seeds as they require light to germinate. Be sure to keep the soil lightly moist during this entire germination period, and keep at 20C/68F. Seeds generally germinate 3-6 weeks after planting.
