Description

This bright yellow flowered lupin is rarely available! Lupine Golden Yellow is an annual wildflower native to California, and carpets hillsides along the Pacific coast. The golden-yellow, sweet-pea like flowers bloom profusely in summer attracting hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Also makes an excellent cut flower. Easy to grow.

Type: Hardy perennial

Hardiness zones: 4-8

Height: 24-36"

Location: Sun or part shade

Seeds per pack: 10

Note: Ornamental use only. Many plants have poisonous parts, these included. These seeds and/or plants are poisonous.

Germination: Start these seeds indoors right away for best germination rates. Soak the seeds for 6-12 hours before planting. We suggest surface sowing the seeds, and then covering them with a 1/4" thick layer of perlite to the surface to prevent “dampening off,” which is a term used for rotting. Another option is to use a soluble fungicide to prevent damping off. Temperature (20-22 °C, 68-72 °F). Seeds germinate in 14-60 days.
