The Prunus subhirtella Pendula also called Weeping Higan Cherry grows 20 to 30 feet tall and spreads 15 to 25 feet in a weeping habit. They flower in the spring with a very showy display, having light pink flowers that cover the branches before the leaves emerge. Leaves stay glossy green throughout the summer and into the fall when they turn a vivid yellow in fall. It has a weeping crown shape. Fast growth rate. It has one of the best tolerances for summer heat and winter cold than most of the flowering cherries.
