An extremely popular watermelon, with one of the highest sugar contents of any watermelon! They are large watermelons about 27" long x 12" wide and weigh 40 lbs. The flesh is firm, medium-red, and very sweet. Congo watermelons have unsurpassed taste, winning the prestigious AAS Award in 1950. Watermelon can be grown in northern climates! It is resistant to disease, and grows in 95 days. Open-pollinated.

Starting these seeds early indoors in spring. Place the seeds just under the surface of the soil and water in. Keep continuously moist. Temperature 20-22 °C, 68-72 °F. Seeds germinate 10-20 days. Plant outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date. Note, the seeds require warm soil and will not germinate if planted outdoors when it is cold out. Starting indoor is best.

I happened across Ferri Seeds website when I Googled a particular plant I’d been looking for. I was impressed by their selection of all types of seeds and their good product descriptions along with detailed germination instructions. I found the site and ordered on a Saturday. On Sunday I got a notice that my order had been shipped! The seeds were in my P.O. box on Friday. Such amazing service.
