Large yellow flowers. Evergreen to semi-deciduous, often behaving as a biennial, 30-50cm high in bloom. Flowers sulphur-yellow, long-stalked, with six to eight petals and, up to 10cm wide (rarely reported as 15cm or more), blooming spring to summer. Easily grown. Very variable in height and flower size in the wild.

Meconopsis should be planted right away when received, as the seeds have a short viability window. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil, and water in. Do not bury the seeds as light aids germaintion. Temperature 5 to 15ºC (41 to 59ºF). Keep lightly moist. Meconopsis germinate quicker in a peat-based soilless compost. Germination is 6-8 weeks, though some may take longer.
Ornamental use only. These seeds and or plants are poisonous.

I happened across Ferri Seeds website when I Googled a particular plant I’d been looking for. I was impressed by their selection of all types of seeds and their good product descriptions along with detailed germination instructions. I found the site and ordered on a Saturday. On Sunday I got a notice that my order had been shipped! The seeds were in my P.O. box on Friday. Such amazing service.
