The most popular culinary basil that is loved for its large leaves and sweet, mildly spicy flavour! Sourced from Genoa area of Italy, the pesto capital of the world! This is a great culinary variety as it does not bolt as quickly as other basil. It also retains its flavour well as it ages. Perfect for pesto salads, and any dish calling for a large leaved basil.
Harvest in the morning when leaves contain the highest concentration of aromatic oils.
Basil will grow in full sun or a partially shady location where it will get 6-8 hours of sun per day.

Starting these seeds indoors in late winter, spring, or early summer. Place the seeds just under the surface of the soil and water in. Keep continuously moist. Temperature 20-22 C, 68-72 F. Seeds germinate 10-30 days. If seeds are received in fall, store in the refrigerator until the soonest chance that they are able to be planted.
