Absolutely stunning and massive red flowers cover this peony, which forms a large shrub that is quite hardy, even in cold climates! Flowers are absolutely HUGE, single, and a rich true red color. These seeds are very large! This is an early-blooming peony.

Type: Perennial

Height: 1-1.2 meters 3-4 feet

Hardiness zones: 5-9

Location: Part shade, or morning/evening sun.

Seeds per packet: 3 large seeds

Note: Ornamental use only. These plants or seeds may be poisonous.

Germination: Sow the seeds just under the surface and water in. Then cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 60-90 days. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold-moist stratification period they are then brought back to room temperature (15-19 C, 59-62 F) for them to germinate. Peony will take for time to show above ground growth, as they form an underground root before any above ground growth is seen. Germination is generally 30-90 days after the warming period, though some can take longer, and will germinate irregularly over a long period of time. Do not discard the planting tray, as patience is needed, and they are well worth the wait!
