Syringa reticulata, aka Japanese Tree Lilac, is native to eastern Asia, and is the largest of the family, growing up to 49' tall. It produces creamy-white fragrant flowers in broad panicles in early summer. It's a popular ornamental tree in Europe and America, as it's easy to grow and tolerates urban conditions well.
