Description
Unique amethyst-pink flowers are produced in spring. Traditionally this plant is a bright woodland or alpine perennial, living around rocky areas. This plant grows the quickest during spring and fall, when temperatures are cool. Plants do well when placed under deciduous tree that allow sun in the spring, before the leaves emerge, and then provide shade through the summer heat. Plants are very hardy!

Germination: Start these seeds indoors right away for best germination rates. Your planting container should have holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. These seeds require light to germinate. Sow the seeds on surface of a seed-start mix, and water in. Do not bury the seeds. Leave them at room temperature (20-22 °C, 68-72 °F) for 4 weeks. If they have not germinated after 4 weeks then a cooling period is required. Cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 4 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold-moist stratification period they are then brought back to a cool room (15C, 59F) for them to germinate. Germination can be 30-60 days after the warming period, though some will take longer.
