Description

Meconopsis baileyi was originally called Meconopsis betonicifolia, and one of the most beautiful plants! Flowers have silky rich-blue petals, and a large golden eye. Stems are very strong, and leaves are interestingly hairy! We've reached out to a reliable breeder to obtain the seeds that we know to be true to variety. These seeds are reliable germinators as long as they are given cool temperatures (see germination instructions below).

Available for a limited time.

Type: Hardy Perennial

Height: 90 cm

Hardiness zones: 5-9

Location: Shade or part sun

Seeds per pack: 10

Availability: If these seeds are showing out of stock, we strongly recommend joining our wait list, as these seeds have a very shorty viability window, and this helps ensure you get the freshest seeds possible! If they are available, they will only be available for a short time.

Note: Ornamental use only. These seeds and/or plants may be poisonous.

Germination: Start these seeds right away for best germination rates. Your planting container should have holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. These seeds require light to germinate. Sow the seeds on surface of a sterile seed-start mix, and water in. Do not bury the seeds. Leave them at room temperature (20-22 °C, 68-72 °F) for 4 weeks. If they have not germinated after 4 weeks then a cooling period is required. Cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 4 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold-moist stratification period they are then brought back to a cool room (15C, 59F) for them to germinate. Germination can be 30-90 days after the warming period, though some will take longer.
