Description

Meconopsis baileyi was originally called Meconopsis betonicifolia, and one of the most beautiful plants! This hard-to-find Meconopsis has silky, rich violet-blue flower petals, and a large golden eye. Stems are very strong, and leaves are interestingly hairy! We've reached out to a reliable breeder to obtain the seeds that we know to be true to variety. The seeds are reliable germinators as long as they are given cool temperatures (see germination instructions below).

Available for a very limited time.

Type: Hardy perennial

Height: 90 cm

Hardiness zones: 5-9

Location: Shade or part sun

Seeds per pack: 10

Availability: If these seeds are showing out of stock, we strongly recommend joining our wait list, as these seeds have a very shorty viability window, and this helps ensure you get the freshest seeds possible! If they are available, they will only be available for a short time.

Note: Ornamental use only. These seeds and/or plants are poisonous.

Germination: It is very important to start these seeds right away to preserve viability, no matter the time of year. These seeds require light to germinate. Sow the seeds on the surface of a sterile seed-start mix, and water in. Keep them at 20C for germination. Do not us a heat mat or they will not grow. The seeds generally germinate in 4-6 weeks, though some can take longer so be sure to keep moist. Once germination occurs, place them in a cooler location for them to grow larger, about 15C is ideal.
