Liatris elegans, known commonly as pinkscale gayfeather, pinkscale blazingstar, and elegant blazingstar, is native to the southeastern United States as far west as Texas and Oklahoma. Liatris elegans produces stems 30 to 120 centimeters tall. The flowers are in heads with 4 or 5 florets and maybe pink, purplish, white, or yellow in color. It grows in dry, sandy soils in prairie and pineland habitat. The plants are grown from seeds, and the plants then form rounded or turnip-shaped corms.

These seeds are very rare and in limited supply.

Location: Sun or part sun

Hardiness zones: 6-8

Seeds per pack: 10

Germination: Sow the seeds just under the surface and water in. Keep lightly moist and do not let the soil dry out. Keep at 20-22 °C, 68-72 °F. These seeds are known to be a bit slow to germinate, and should be up in about 21-60 days, but could take as long as 90 days for some seeds.
