This perennial is native to North America, growing well in moist, shady conditions. These interesting flowers are bright red on the outside, opening up with a green and yellow mix on the inside.
Type: Hardy perennial
Hardiness zones: 5-9
Height: 24", 60cm
Location: Part shade to full shade
Seeds per packet: 5
Sow just under the surface of the soil and water in. Then cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 12 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold stratification they are then brought back to room temperature 20-22°C (68-72°F) for them to germinate. Germination is irregular over a long period of time, generally 8-12 weeks, but some can take longer. Do not discard the planting tray, as patience is needed, and they are well worth the wait.
Ornamental use only. These seeds and/or plants are poisonous.
