A very rare Ironweed, Vernonia lettermannii, or the narrowleaf ironweed, is a plant species native from Arkansas to Oklahoma, though will grow in much of North America. It is a perennial up to 60 cm (24 in) tall. It produces numerous bright purple-violet flowers, arranged in dense clusters. Drought tolerant/ for xeriscaping/ waterwise design, and suitable for natural landscaping. Provides a food source for butterflies and other pollinators. Remarkable perennial for modern garden design.
