Native to North America. In very early spring, as early as March, this violet produces pretty yellow flowers with purple veining on the lower petals, atop smooth heart-shaped foliage. Excellent for rock gardens, border fronts, woodlands gardens and native plant gardens. Smooth Yellow Violet is easily grown in regular moisture or wet, well-drained soil. A non-agressive violet, spreading gently by seed. Attracts butterflies!
