Description

The Illumination series of Begonia are well known for their abundance of flowers, that form on trailing stems. A perfect Begonia for hanging baskets!

Begonia plants are ideal for shade, or part shade.

Tuberous begonias have an added appeal that they form large tubers that can be lifted in the fall, and stored for the winter! Pot-up bulbs in the late winter or early spring for next years flowers!

Type: Bulb, can be lifted in fall and stored for the winter, to be used for next years flowers!

Height: 12"

Location: Shade or part shade

Seeds per pack: 10. These seeds may be pelleted.

Note: Ornamental use only. These seeds and/or plants are poisonous.

About pellets: Pelleting is a coating that is sometimes applied to small seeds, to help with handling and sowing. Once the seeds are sown and watered, the pelleting is designed to immediately disintegrate to release the seed

Germination: Start these seeds indoors in winter, spring or early summer. A sterile seed-start mix is ideal for these small seeds. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil, and water in. Do not bury the seeds as they require light to germinate. Keep lightly moist and do not let the soil dry out. A heat mat or warm room is beneficial until germination begins, and then they should be placed at 20-22 °C, 68-72 °F in an area with good air circulation (no cover). Seeds germinate within 15-30 days.
