Long stalks with tall bract-like flowers! It's a great plant for honey bees and can be grown well in planters. It prefers full sun conditions to thrive best with a drier/well drained soil type. This plant was awarded the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) from the Royal Horticultural Society.
