Description

Unique, bright-red colored flowers on succulent ground-cover plants! Blooms last for many weeks! A great addition to the front of the garden. They are ideal for hot, sunny areas, and can withstand dry areas and still produce these amazing flowers. Although Ice Plant is most often grown as an annual (it blooms the first year from seed), this plant is a perennial outdoors in zones 5-11!

Type: Hardy perennial. In colder climates it can be grown as an annual as it blooms the first year from seed!

Hardiness zones: 5-10

Height: 8" tall flowers, 4" tall foliage.

Location: Sun

Seeds per pack: 10

Germination: Start these seeds early indoors. Place on the surface of a sterile seed mix (do not bury them), and keep moist and warm until germination, which takes about 3-4 weeks. Do not let the soil dry out, yet do not overwater and let the soil become boggy wet. Grow in a sunny location. A sterile seed-start mix is important with these seeds, as regular potting soil can contain eggs of fungus gnats, which can be detrimental to very small seeds. Be sure the mix is specifically formulated for starting seeds.
