In our opinion, Ligularia are one of the most valuable perennials because it has all-season appeal! In summer masses of yellow flowers appear on spikes, and last for many weeks! An added bonus, the large leaves are a focal point in the garden all season long. Ligularia can be grown in regular garden soil, and can also tolerate boggy wet soils. Rare and very limited supply!

Type: Hardy perennial

Height: 30" tall leaves, 5' tall flowers

Location: Part or in regular soil, or if soil is moist this plant can be grown in a sunny location.

Hardiness zones: 4-9

Seeds per pack: 10

Germination: The planting container should have holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. Sow the seeds just under the surface and water in. Then cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 6-8 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the cold-moist stratification period they are then brought back to room temperature (20-22 °C, 68-72 °F) for them to germinate. Germination is generally 30-60 days after the warming period.
