RARE LONGLEAF SPEEDWELL

- / per
Description
This Speedwell produces not only long leaves, but long flower spikes! The flower spikes are up to 12 inches (300 mm) long and bear lilac-colored blooms. Veronica longifolia, is known as garden speedwell or longleaf speedwell.
Type: Hardy perennial
Height: 2' - 4' tall (60cm - 120cm), and spreads to 2 feet
Hardiness zones: 4-10
Location: Sun
Germination: This plant is easy to germinate. Your planting container should have holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. For best results, obtain a sterile seed-start mix, and place the seeds on the top of the pre-moistened growing medium (not buried). Lightly press the seeds so that they are flush with the surface of the soil. Keep moist until germination, which can take about 3 weeks. You can cover the container with clear plastic if you wish, to retain moisture until germination. Watering can be done from the top with a spray bottle, or from the bottom tray, as to not disturb the seeds. Once seeds emerge, place the pot in a sunny place, or under bright grow lights.
Note: As with many perennials, these seeds can benefit from a period of cold, which may improve germination rates (optional). If you are doing this, once you have planted your seeds, place the container in a cold place (but not freezing) for 3-4 weeks. Then place them at room temperature to germinate.
