Description

This is a rare white form of the tall perennial lobelia, which is most commonly has blue flowers. The flowers are held on tall flower spikes and look quite elegant. The plants are very cold hardy, especially compared to red lobelia varieties, and will return year after year reliably. Tolerant of many soil types including poor dry soils. Blooms appear in late summer and into fall, when few other plants are in bloom. Hummingbirds love them!

Type: Hardy perennial

Height: 24"

Location: Part sun or shade

Hardiness zones: 3-9

Seeds per pack: 15

Note: This plant species is known to have toxicity.

Germination: These seeds can be started indoors, but actually do quite well being planted in the location that they are to grow! At any time of year, simply lightly rake the ground, scatter the seeds on the surface (do not bury them) and water them in. They will germinate best during periods of wet weather, usually in spring or fall (or during wet weather in winter if your climate allows), but can also easily be planted in summer also if you are willing to water them, or if you are willing to wait for mother nature to help out with rain!
