A rare Ironweed, with decorative white flowers!

Vernonia noveboracensis, the New York ironweed or vein-leaf hawkweed, is native to the eastern United States, from Florida to Massachusetts and west to Tennessee, Alabama, and West Virginia and to southern Ontario.

Vernonia noveboracensis has very tall stiff, greenish purple stems. The flowers are borne in summer and fall. An absolutely beautiful specimen plant!
