These seeds became famous for their use in Chia Pets. The seeds are used for health benefits. Chia seeds may be added to other foods as a topping or put into smoothies, cereals, energy bars, granola, breads and yogurt.
Type: Perennial in zones 8-12, otherwise grow as an annual
Height: 48", 120cm
Seeds per packet: 50
Sow just under the surface of the soil and water in. Temperature 20-22 °C (68-72 °F) for 4 weeks. They may be growing at this point. If they have not germinated after 4 weeks then a cooling period is required. Cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 4 weeks. Be sure they stay moist. After the stratification period they are then brought back to room temperature for them to germinate. Germination can be 30-60 days after the warming period, though some can take longer.

I happened across Ferri Seeds website when I Googled a particular plant I’d been looking for. I was impressed by their selection of all types of seeds and their good product descriptions along with detailed germination instructions. I found the site and ordered on a Saturday. On Sunday I got a notice that my order had been shipped! The seeds were in my P.O. box on Friday. Such amazing service.
