SUNDEW

This Sundew is relatively easy to grow. Hardy from zones 6 to 10, they typically go dormant during the hotter months, dying back to their root stock before putting out new growth when temperatures come back down. As sundews naturally grow in boggy areas, they can grow well in saturated soil. We would recommend using a soil mix of 50/50 peat and perlite. Be careful which type you get though as a lot of box store peat moss has additives. To be safe, triple rinsing can get rid of a lot of extra sediment that might be mixed in as well as wash away a lot of minerals that may be trapped in the soil. As with any carnivorous plant, only use; rain, distilled or reverse osmosis water.

Drosera Trinervia is a low and slow growing variety that creates a nice rosette shape, somewhat similar to Drosera Spatulata. Produces fairly large blossoms, up to 2.5cm or 1" in diameter.

Note: These seeds are extremely tiny! It's just how they naturally are. Reading glasses are recommended to aid with seeing them, even for those who don't normally require glasses to read. The seeds are shipped in either a wax envelope, or folder within a small paper. Open carefully, and sprinkle onto the growing medium. Do not bury the seeds. Germination information is below.
