Description

These red hot chiles are indispensable in Mexican, Indonesian and Italian dishes. Peppers are 5-10cm/2-4” long and 1cm/0.5” in diameter. The dried powder adds zest to soups, sauces, egg and meat dishes. Ground pods and a little soap in water is a useful insect-repellent for the garden.

Heat: 30,000-50,000 Scoville units

Location: Sun

Seeds per pack: 15

Note: All parts of the pepper plant can be poisonous to pets

Germination: These plants should be fairly easy to germinate! Your planting container should have holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. Place the seeds just under the surface of your growing medium, and flatten the surface. Keep moist and warm until germination, which can take about 3-4 weeks. Once seedlings emerge, place the pot in a sunny place, or under bright grow lights. Pepper seeds require an early indoor sowing, especially if you live in a cool climate.
