Description

An extremely sweet orange flesh with high sugar content make these a favorite for many! They grow about 18" long and weigh about 35 pounds when they reach maturity after 95 days of growing. The rinds are strong which makes them good for moving around.

Orange varieties of watermelon are actually more ancient than their pink and red counterparts. Historians believe that the orange versions grew wild in South Africa originally.

Not many people know that watermelon can be grown in northern climates!

Seeds per pack: 10

Germination: Start indoors, seeds require 5-10 days at a soil temperature of 24 C (75 F) to germinate. Do not start outdoors in spring as with lower night temperatures, germination will be inhibited. Then plant outdoors once the chance of frost is past. Water during dry weather.
