Broad-leaved thyme is similar to wild thyme (Thymus serpyllum) but the flowers are larger and leaves are wider. Extremely aromatic foliage! The plant flowers in summer in lilac-pink or mauve.
Suitable for cultivation in any well-drained soil in full sun, this ornamental thyme is useful as groundcover or plant at the front of the garden or rack gardens.
Broad-leaved thyme is native to temperate parts of Europe. It grows on hills, in rocky outcrops, gravel soils, sandy places, and roadsides.
Attractive to bees, butterflies and pollinators!
