Your planting container should be waterproof, and not have holes at the bottom. Fill the container with good soil. Sow the seeds just under the surface, and then fill the tray with water to the top of the soil. Leave them at room temperature for 3-4 weeks. This helps break the phytohormones which inhibit germination. They will not grow yet. Then a cooling period is required. Cover them with plastic and place in a fridge for 4-6 weeks. Be sure they stay wet. After the cold stratification period they are then brought back to 21°C, 70°F for them to germinate. Germination is generally 30-60 days after the warming period, though some can take longer.
Ornamental use only. These seeds and/or plants are poisonous.
