Description

Cyclamen elegans (Cyclamen coum subsp. elegans) is a perennial growing from a tuber. In the wild it is found in the mountains and coastal areas, where it can even be found growing in moss on the lower limbs of trees. These plants are rubust, and are hardy in zones 6-9!

It is similar to Cyclamen coum, and was once considered a subspecies (Cyclamen coum subsp. elegans), but leaves and petals are longer as well as C. elegans flowering earlier in October or November.

The petals of C. elegans also have a dark blotch at the base of each petal in the flower head.

Note: This plant species is known to have toxicity.

Seeds per pack: 10

Germination: Your planting container should have holes in the bottom for excess water to drain. Place the seeds under the surface of your growing medium, completely covered, as light can prevent germination. Place your container in a cool room for germination (65F). Germination can take weeks or months, generally anywhere from 1 to 12 months. Patience is required, though they are well worth the wait!
