This highly adaptable grass is native to Eastern North America, typically grows on woody slopes or moist thickets. The flower heads start off as a pale green but slowly turn a golden brown as the flower heads mature. Flowers from August to October, and the seed heads will make a pleasant rustling noise in the wind as they dry. A great option for cut-flowers.
