Canada Post CUPW announces national strike

For our Canadian customers:

We have made UPS shipping available for any orders that you wish to receive quickly. Rates are available at checkout.

During the strike we are still accepting orders for Canada Post shipping, and preparing them for shipping. They will be put into the Postal System as soon as possible. Since Canada Post will be delivering on a first-in, first-out basis, your order will be ready to go.

Here is some of the information that Canada Post has provided:

Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network. And no new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.

All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume.

For our USA customers: There are no delays to our standard shipping times.

International customers (outside of North America): UPS courier shipping has no delays. A Canada Post option is available but will have delays due to the Postal strike. Canada Post orders are shipped on a first-in, first-out basis once mail services resume.

Wisteria sinensis (Chinese wisteria) is a woody, deciduous, perennial climbing in the genus Wisteria, native to China in the provinces of Guangxi, Guizhou, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Shaanxi, and Yunnan. While this plant is a climbing it can be trained into a tree-like shape, usually with a wavy trunk and a flattened top.

It can grow 20-30 m long over supporting trees by counterclockwise-twining stems. The flowers are white, produced on 15-20 cm racemes before the leaves emerge in spring. The flowers have a distinctive fragrance similar to that of grapes. Seed production is often low, therefore becoming difficult to obtain seed.

It is hardy in USDA plant hardiness zones 5-9, and prefers moist soils. It is considered tolerant, but will flower when exposed to partial or full sun. Plants can live for over a hundred years.

Wisteria sinensis has secured for itself a place as one of the most popular s for home gardens due to its flowering.

A one-acre (4,000 m2) specimen located in Sierra Madre, California is recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest blossoming plant.

Wisteria sinensis was unknown in Europe before 1816, when several agents working in China sent cuttings back to England. A 200 year-old growing at Griffin's Brewery in Chiswick, London, planted that same year, is often cited as England's oldest living wisteria plant. Over the next several decades the plant became, and remains, one of the quintessential ornamentals in English gardens. It is most commonly trained along garden walls, along the exterior of buildings, or over a pergola to create avenues of overhanging blossoms during bloom.
