Description

Arenaria montana, the mountain sandwort, is native to mountainous regions of southwestern Europe, from the Pyrenees to Portugal. It is an evergreen perennial growing 14-22cm, 6-9" tall, with green to grayish-green opposite leaves. From mid to late Spring it produces dense clumps of white 25 mm (1 in) flowers each.

Arenaria montana prefers well drained, sandy to sandy loam soils, with average to above average moisture levels.

This plant has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

These seeds are in very limited supply.

Seeds per pack: 10

Germination: Sow seeds approximately 1/4" deep.  Should germinate with 2-4 weeks at room temperature. Do not use a heating pad.  Once ready for transplanting into the garden, space plants out by about 1' or 30cm. It is very important not to let the newly-planted seeds, or seedlings, dry out or they will perish.
