Tradescantia ohiensis, commonly known as bluejacket or Ohio spiderwort, is native to eastern and central North America. It is the most common and widely distributed species of Tradescantia in the United States, where it can be found from Maine in the northeast, west to Minnesota, and south to Texas and Florida. It also has a small distribution in Canada in southern Ontario.

Typical habitats for the plant include roadsides, along railroads, and in fields and thickets. Less typically it can occur in woods, and sometimes along streams.

Seeds per pack: 10

Germination: These seeds are fairly easy to germinate, just requiring a little time! Place the seeds just under the surface of the soil, and water. Keep at 68 F to 86 F (fluctuating temperatures are ideal), and moist until germination. They germinate in 4-8 weeks generally. Place outdoors once big enough to handle, and grow in a sunny location. Once established they are drought tolerant.
