Masses of fragrant pink flowers are produced in spring, beginning before foliage emerges! If the beautiful and extremely fragrant flowers were not enough, after flowering, Daphne Mezereum produces showy red berries in summer and into fall!

Seeds per packet: 5 large seeds
Soak the seeds for 12-24 hours before planting. Sow just under the surface of the soil and water in. First keep them at room temperature for 10 weeks. This helps break the phytohormones which inhibit germination. Then cover them with plastic to retain moisture, and then place in a fridge for 90-120 days. Be sure they stay lightly moist. Then bring them to 21C, 70F for germination. The first seedlings will start to appear after 6 months. Patience is required, though they are well worth the wait!
